Lessons from Girl Scouts

One of the most frustrating things about being on the State Administration with ABATE of PA is keeping my mouth shut at Board Meetings. I sincerely enjoy participating in the meetings, and listening to the thought-provoking discussions among the Board Members (District Reps), but I’m unable to contribute or chime in with my two cents. The Board Meetings and Grand Board Meetings are solely for the District Reps and Chapter Coordinators to discuss issues, and make the decisions that guide ABATE of PA. read more...

Push for Helmet Laws

Right now, the push for motorcycle helmet laws is stronger than ever. Its bigger than a handful of the usual government agencies pushing for mandatory helmet laws, It is that of course too, but there is another factor at work as well. And its a very natural thing to happen, the desire to protect children. Many skate parks, bmx parks, horse rides, go carting, etc all now require helmets for youngsters, and we are ok with that. So long as that the continues the likely hood of keeping states helmet law free gets slimmer. read more...

MRF Update

This summer I have been very busy, but I decided to take a weekend away from it all ,and rode up to “Thunder on the Mountain,” sponsored by Gods Country Chapter. When I got to a place on the Mountain that looked like a nice spot to set up my tent for the weekend, there was a very friendly couple from the western end of the state. I introduced myself to them and told them that I was their State MRF rep and I got the distinct feeling they were not familiar with what the MRF is and what they do to help protect our freedoms. read more...
