Motorcyclists Rights Rally Needs Road Guard Volunteers

Here we are back around to May 24th again, time for our ride down to the Capitol to show our elected representatives that we are still here and we still care about motorcyclists rights. Having enough road guards to station along our route helps insure that we all arrive safely and as one group. Mark your calenders for 20 May 2010. This will be the Second Annual Bikers Inside the Beltway. Last year Pennsylvania had an impressive turn out. Let’s try to do even better this year.. What's Freedom Weekend? It's Camping, Live Music, a Bike Show, and More! It's a place to spend a day, a night, or the entire weekend prior to the Rights Rally. It's a place to stay for those that would be traveling several hours to get to the Rights Rally. It's a meeting place for the Parade Ride in to Harrisburg on the Morning of the Rights Rally. Gov. Rendell Declares May as Motorcycle Safety & Awareness Month

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month by proclamation of Governor Edward G. Rendell (see attached file), and the Department of Transportation is reminding motorcyclists to fine-tune their skills through free motorcycle safety courses. In addition, A.B.A.T.E. of Pennsylvania has joined with PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program in an effort to further reduce motorcycle fatalities in a campaign to alert motor vehicle drivers to Watch for Motorcycles. read more...

Money Talks

I am sure that everyone is familiar with the saying, “Money makes the world go round.” Well, money also makes things happen here in Harrisburg. One of BikePAC’s major functions is to provide the means for ABATE members and officers to attend various political fundraisers for candidates. In March alone in the Harrisburg area I personally attended more than two dozen such fundraisers. read more...

State Pool Tournament Recap

The State Pool Tournament was another successful event for ABATE of PA. Districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 participated with 27 shooters from all across the State beginning to arrive about 10:00am at the PA Roadhouse & Tavern. Registration was from 10:00am until 12:00noon with tournament play to begin at 12:30pm. read more...
