Rendell (see attached file), and the Department of Transportation is reminding motorcyclists to fine-tune their skills through free motorcycle safety courses. One of BikePAC’s major functions is to provide the means for ABATE members and officers to attend various political fundraisers for candidates. In March alone in the Harrisburg area I personally attended more than two dozen such fundraisers. read more... 04-05-10 The State Pool Tournament was another successful event for ABATE of PA. Districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 participated with 27 shooters from all across the State beginning to arrive about 10:00am at the PA Roadhouse & Tavern. Registration was from 10:00am until 12:00noon with tournament play to begin at 12:30pm. read more... 03-15-10 ABATE of Pennsylvania, PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program Promote Motorcycle Awareness There were 204 motorcycle fatalities in 2009. That is a 14% decrease from the 236 fatalities that occurred in 2008. That decrease in fatalities is encouraging, and fewer lives will be lost by reducing the number of right of way violations that are frequently the cause of automobile / motorcycle collisions. It's easy and it is fun but we need you to make the commitment to put in the time to make it a success. The Legislature goes into session at 11 AM. This only allows a small window of opportunity for you to actually meet your Legislator face to face. A second window of opportunity usually presents itself between 12 and 1 PM. Lunch - and last but not least some legislators will even leave the floor to meet with constituents from back in the district providing they have prior knowledge of you being in Harrisburg on April 20. read more...
