State Pool Tournament Recap

The State Pool Tournament was another successful event for ABATE of PA. Districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 participated with 27 shooters from all across the State beginning to arrive about 10:00am at the PA Roadhouse & Tavern. ABATE of Pennsylvania, PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program Promote Motorcycle Awareness

There were 204 motorcycle fatalities in 2009. That is a 14% decrease from the 236 fatalities that occurred in 2008. That decrease in fatalities is encouraging, and fewer lives will be lost by reducing the number of right of way violations that are frequently the cause of automobile / motorcycle collisions. Towards that goal, A.B.A.T.E. of Pennsylvania has joined with PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program in an effort to further reduce motorcycle fatalities in a campaign to Watch for Motorcycles. read more...


Tuesday, April 20, 2010 - ABATE Lobby Day at the State Capitol

Mark this date on your calendar - Tuesday, April 20, 2010 - ABATE Lobby Day at the State Capitol. It's easy and it is fun but we need you to make the commitment to put in the time to make it a success. The Legislature goes into session at 11 AM. This only allows a small window of opportunity for you to actually meet your Legislator face to face. A second window of opportunity usually presents itself between 12 and 1 PM. Lunch - and last but not least some legislators will even leave the floor to meet with constituents from back in the district providing they have prior knowledge of you being in Harrisburg on April 20. read more...


BikePAC News Update

One of the goals of the annual Leadership and Legislative Seminar is to raise money for BikePAC for the coming year. This year will be extremely important to ABATE because it is a General Election year which will see the entire House of Representatives up for election along with 25 Senate seats. Grantville, PA -The Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE) hosted its annual Leadership and Legislative Seminar on January 22, 23, 2010 in Grantville, PA. IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 14, 2010 - As the popularity of motorcycling and motorcycle registrations continues to rise among military service personnel, so does the number of fatal motorcycle crashes. That is why the Department of Defense (DoD) continues to seek out aggressive countermeasures in the campaign against two-wheel Private Motor Vehicle (PMV) mishaps among military personnel, and military sport bike riders in particular. read more...
