ABATE of PA Seeks Award Nominees
Each year at the Leadership and Legislative Seminar, A.B.A.T.E. of Pennsylvania honors selected members and chapters for their special achievements and commitment through the year.
Below you will find a list of those categories that we are seeking nominees for. Do you know a deserving individual or chapter? Then why not nominate them for one of the 2009 awards.
Write a letter describing why you feel your nominee deserves to be selected as one of the 2009 honorees. Letters must be signed by the submitter and also signed by either a chapter president or district representative. Submit your nomination letter to the state no later than December 30, 2009. FREEDOM FIGHTER AWARD – This goes to an A.B.A.T.E. of PA member who has demonstrated initiative, competency and effectiveness in the area of legislation.
LEADERSHIP AWARD – Given to a member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities when confronted with formidable challenges.
SAFETY AND AWARENESS AWARD – Given to a member who makes a commitment and demonstrates excellence and leadership in the field of motorcycle safety.
GOLDEN QUILL AWARD – Presented to a member who has demonstrated excellence and leadership in the field of communications.
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD – Presented to a member for personal sacrifice, initiative and dedication to A.B.A.T.E. of PA and the motorcycling community.
HUMANITARIAN AWARD – Presented for outstanding community service by an individual or chapter.
ED FRUECHT JR. LIFETIME
Also at the Seminar, BikePAC will be presenting one special person with the “Ed Fruecht, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award.” Candidates need not be members of A.B.A.T.E. of Pennsylvania but they must be a resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who has made a substantial contribution to the motorcycling community. BikePAC will be accepting written nominations and they must be received no later than December 30, 2009. These letters may also be send to the A.B.A.T.E. of PA state office or to BikePAC, PO Box 564, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-0564.
