A THANK YOU TO ALL FROM THE FALL FLING
Bob Pisaneschi, Fall Fling Chairman
The third fall fling has come and gone this year. With it comes a host of new memories and the winding down of another riding season for ABATE of PA members. Looking back at the past three events it seems hard to believe all of the changes that have taken place at this little upstart event. From the timing of the event to its actual execution every part of it has undergone changes. It has truly been a humbling experience and one I personally feel fortunate to have been a part of. It took the efforts of a lot of members to make it happen and to make it succeed. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who gave of their time and of themselves to make this event grow into a success. To everyone who has served on the fling committee both past and present and to my co-chair Big Bob Russell who has been with me every step of the way through hell and high water to get this event up and running. My thanks to the chapters that have taken an active hand in actually putting the event on: Center Line Riders, Cambria Summit, Blair County, Lawrence County, Jefferson County, Mercer, and Chinklacamoose. Both officers and members alike from these chapters went above and beyond to help put this event on for the benefit of the membership.
As you can see from the pictures, a great time was had by all that participated. Our scenic ride through the elk country was attended by 15 bikes. Our horse shoe playoffs had four chapters competing, 1st place was awarded to Keystone Chapter’s team of Jeff Gibson and Danny Carol; 2nd place was awarded to North Pittsburgh Chapter’s team of Jeff Lanager and Bob Watkins; 3rd place was awarded to Lawrence County Chapter’s team of Bill Kirkwood and Josh Guthrie. Our corn hole tournament winners were 1st place Art Lines and Bill Kirkwood; 2nd place was Linda Wachter and Dick Logan; 3rd place was Ken Snow and Tom Palmer, all teams were from Lawrence County Chapter. For our best appearing chapter group ride the 1st place went to Lawrence County Chapter and 2nd place went to Lancaster Chapter. We had a nice turn out for our 1st bike show and the winners were, Class 1 Antique – Diane Bogus; Class 2 American Dresser – Tom Palmer; Class 3 Foreign Dresser – Bill Kirkwood; Class 4 Foreign Stock – Sharon Wagner; Class 5 American Stock – John Frantz; Class 6 Radical Custom – Scott Robilland; Class 7 Modified Custom – no entries; Class 8 Regular Custom – Randy Kalonish; Class 9 Trike – Vince Stahlmon; Class 10 Scooter – no entries. Finally, we held bike games and awarded 1st and 2nd place trophies to those that participated in the eight games that we held. We had a nice participation in these as well too and were able to have some new games some weren’t familiar with such as a balloon toss and potato in a haystack games. Great time and great weather for all the events held.
In closing I wish to thank the organization of which I am proud to be a part of, the state executive board and the board of directors for their confidence in the Fall Fling committee. Finally, thanks to the membership of this great organization who have steadily supported this event and have done so in increasing numbers. Without you none of this would be possible. Thank you so much to everyone for all you have done!
