A.B.A.T.E. of Pennsylvania strongly encourages every motorcyclist to enroll in a motorcycle safety course. Professional training is essential and free! The life you save may be your own.
Already Have Some Rider Experience?
Experienced riders who have a motorcycle permit can become licensed through the Expericed Riders Course.
A motorcycle license is no longer required to take the ERC. As of 2006, if an experienced student passes the new permit knowledge test to obtain a motorcycle permit and then passes the ERC, will be licensed by the program coordinators. The rider with the permit must be 18 years of age and possess a car license. They also must have passed the knowledge test at PennDOT.
Even if you've been riding for some time, there's always something new to learn. In this one day, 8 hour training session, riders gain a more in-depth comprehension of:
- Managing traction
- Controlling rear-wheel skids
- Stopping quickly
- Cornering and swerving
Riders use their own motorcycles for the advanced course. In addition to honing your riding skills, it's fun learning how to conquer more difficult manuevers.
The Benefits Improve your chances of NOT becoming a crash statistic by 100%.
Professional training by certified instructors - learn the right way the 1st time. Licensing is immediate upon satisfactory completion of BRC. Insurance premiums are discounted as much as 10% by some insurance companies.* The courses are FREE to Pennsylvania residents. ($150 for non-residents)
